What Does Your Website Look Like?
Your beverage store is most likely to be found by a quick Google search on a mobile device. We talked last week about the importance of designing a mobile responsive website. Did you check out your website on your mobile phone? What about a simple Google search? Don’t worry. We’ll wait. (Cue Jeopardy music.)
Did You See Something?
Did you see your store listed? If so, did the information about your store look like this?
We’ve talked before about ways to market your store (and they’re free), but if you haven’t claimed your store on Google, you’re missing the biggest marketing opportunity. This screen shows a site that is unclaimed by the owner. When you claim your site, you can make edits to tell your customers about you, share your business hours, add pictures, and, of course, list your website.
What Did You See?
When you see your store’s site on mobile, what do you think? If you were your customer, would you want to come in and pick up a bottle? How about your products list? We aren’t going to name names but in researching for this blog, we clicked on the link of one store’s wine and spirits listing—it was not working. For your customers, the night is fleeting. They want to find a store that has what they want. If they can’t be certain that is you, chances are they are going to drive right on by.
Maybe you didn’t even look at the site on mobile because you are pretty sure you wouldn’t like what you see. Or, do you not even have a website for your package store because you’ve heard that they are time-consuming and difficult to maintain?
