Computers and Cocktails
Computers have revolutionized the world everywhere you look. Even the most basic car these days is expensive to fix because of the computer that controls the moving parts. You don’t have a cash register anymore, you have a point of sale system that matches barcodes to product and prices and inventory, all in one quick swipe. If you’ve been with Sellr for a while, you know that we have brought computers into the retail beverage industry; our database of more than 70,000 beers, wines, and spirits let beverage store owners scan their products to get verified content including high quality images, recipes, tasting notes, and other descriptive content that helps customers find just the right bottle.
What We Have Learned
70,000 is a lot of products. Using our smartphone app, our customers have been able to use our product database, removing the time otherwise needed to take pictures and edit them for use and write product descriptions, to promote products on in-store digital signage and on the store’s website. We’re glad to be able to provide this service to business owners because in the process, we’ve learned just how much time basic product curation takes—time store owners and marketers don’t have in the grand scheme of marketing.
Looking Back
Next month we will be reintroducing Sellr to a new and bigger audience. We’ve gotten a lot of great feedback about our apps, websites, and digital signage capabilities and have created a new program that will simplify marketing for businesses outside the beverage industry.
Before that, however, we feel it is important to take a look back at what we’ve done for technology in beverage. To do this, we are bringing our efforts under one roof for a big night—Technology in Beverage.
Technology in Beverage will be held Thursday, June 8 at the Atlanta Tech Village from 7 until 9 in the evening. If you are in the Atlanta area, we invite you to be our guest. We’ll admit, we are showing off a little. We will have specialty cocktails created from products in our database. We will also be joined by Enomatic with their wine serving system. Along with our cocktails, we’ll have heavy hors d’oeuvres So, if you’re not in the area, you might want to consider getting here!
