Getting new customers into your store can be tough. I’d like to share 3 cheap ways you can better market your store online that will hopefully build your business!

1. Update Your Facebook Page

  • Include a picture of the inside or outside of your store in the cover photo. This will make it easier for your customers to recognize your business.
  • Update the contact info… make sure your store address, phone number, and email address are accurate and listed.
  • Get into the habit of posting at least once a week on Facebook. Keep it simple! You can take a picture of a new product or a favorite product and list it with a comment. Don’t worry about quality, it’s more important that you post something.
  • Download the Facebook Pages App (free) so you can update everything listed above anywhere you go.

2. Find and Claim your Yelp listing

  • There’s a good chance your store is already on Yelp, you may just need to claim it (free): https://biz.yelp.com/
  • Add and update info making sure your address, store hours, and phone number of correct.
  • If there are any questions or negative comments on your page, be sure to reply.

3. Find and Claim your Google Maps Listing

  • When people “Google” your business name, Google will list out information about your business on the right sidebar. If you haven’t claimed and verified your business, Google will only list what they can find or what others post about you, so it’s important that you control what is said about your business.
  • Use this link to claim your business (free): https://business.google.com

4. (BONUS) Update your website!

  • Your website MUST be mobile friendly. Nearly 70% of the customers looking at your website will be on a mobile phone or a tablet. If you have to pinch to zoom into your website, it is NOT mobile friendly.
  • Feature your current specials on your website. You can feature unique products to your store, employee favorites, store picks, or just relevant seasonal products, like “Best Wines for Valentines” or “Game Day Beers”.
  • (Shameless plug… If you don’t have an easy way to list products on your website, check out our app, it will let you scan products using your smartphone, add prices, and list them on your website… without touching a computer!)
