New Feature: Help Me Choose

June 02, 2016

It’s been a busy first half of the year. We launched our new brand in February, published version 1.0 of our retail app, Sellr, in March, and now we’re preparing to launch version 2.0 with an all-new feature called “Help Me Choose”.

Our first version of the app focused on delivering high quality information in the aisle to shoppers. Now, version 2.0 is designed to simplify the shopping experience for complex products. Imagine for a minute you’ve been tasked with bringing wine for dinner with friends. Let’s be real: the last time you selected a wine was at your wedding, and all you know is that wine from boxes should probably be avoided.

If you were to visit Mac’s Wine & Beer in Atlanta, GA, this is what your shopping experience would look like with the new Help Me Choose feature.

Help me choose a French wine

Walk up to the Tablet in the French wine section and tap to get started…

Select your price point

Select the food you’ll be having for dinner

View your results

The tablet will display results based on your selection using the store’s recommendations.

Find your bottle

Each result has a unique identifier like B3 or A2 with a corresponding shelf tag attached near the product you’re looking for. This helps you quickly locate the recommended product among the store’s hundreds of French wines.

How does it work?

The smart people at Mac’s selected the products they wanted to recommend, created the “Help Me Choose” questions that would be asked, and then tagged the wines that fit those categories, all using the latest version of Sellr.
